Acropolis, leaving behind the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum and the Temple of the Holy Family, wins the 1st place in the «World Travel Awards-2014" in the category of "Best attraction in Europe." Ceremony of the largest international tourism awards held two days ago at the Athens hotel DivaniApollon Palace & Thalasso, also recognized as the best spa in Europe.

Award winners are classified as "Oscar and travel destinations", called by a vote of the representatives of travel agencies from around the world.

The island of Corfu made the difference, winning the title of the best tourist destination in Europe for its beaches (Europe's Leading Beach Destination).
