European Tourism and Culture Development Organisation «Best European Destinations» announced competition for the best tourist destinations in Europe. Among 20 cities, competing this year for the title of the most attractive tourist destinations are Athens.

Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Bordeaux, Brussels, Innsbruck, Lisbon, Ljubljana, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Reykjavik, Rome, Istanbul, Valletta, Vienna, Zagreb and Riga are taking participation in the competition together with the Greek capital Athens.
“Best European Destinations” is a non-profit organization with headquarters in Brussels, established in order to promote Europe as the leading destination in the world, as well as to promote tourism and culture in Europe. A winner-city will be determined by the electronic voting. The winner will receive an honorable and very valuable in terms of advertising (coverage in the media is equivalent to invest in advertising to 10 million Euro) the title of "Best European Destination 2015". Together with the winner laurels of success will share the cities included in the top ten, which will also be promoted in publications, events, etc. Last year, the top tourist destinations in Europe became the city of Porto (Portugal).
