European Medicines Agency (EMA) has recognized the mastic of Chios as a natural medicine.

At a meeting of the Committee on herbal medicinal products (HMPC) to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which took place in London last month, was taken the decision to classify mastic of Chios to the category of traditional herbal medicines in two therapeutic indications: 1. Diarrhea problems; 2. Skin inflammation and wound healing.

After developing and approving the relevant documentation Chios mastiha is recognized as a medicinal product within the EU and EEA countries.in bringing the drugs from mastic will fall to the European market.
