Broadcast of the ballet "Jewels" performed by artists from the Bolshoi in Megaron Mousikis

Within the framework of cooperation with the historic stage of the Bolshoi Theatre Music Palace of Athens (Megaron Mousikis) invites the public and guests of the capital Athens, the rare opportunity to enjoy the famous ballet-Balanchine's "Jewels" triptych, showing a broadcast of Ballet from Bolshoi Theatre November 8, 2015 year.

A native of Russia, George Balanchine (Georgy Melitonovič Balanchivadze) staged the ballet "Jewels" in 1967 to a troupe of New York City Ballet. The idea of Ballet came Balančinu after he saw a collection of famous jeweller Claude Arpel′sa.

All three parts of the Ballet created on three different music composers: Fauré, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky, and each established a special corresponding to those authors, the choreography. In each of the three acts presented one gem. "Emeralds" put to music by Fauré, rubies-the music of Stravinsky, "diamonds"-set to music by Tchaikovsky.
