Since January the 1st, the energy certificate is mandatory for selling or renting a property in Greece. This energy certificate is now required for any real estate transaction in Greece. Since January the 1st of 2016, the document entered in the package of mandatory documents (notary transaction) to inform the purchaser or lessee of the level of energy consumption of property they are interested in (electricity, heating, water heating).
Registration certificate will cost 150 - 200 Euros. Default of this obligation is finable for 1,000 to 10,000 Euros.
