Hotel Grande Bretagne, located in downtown Athens, was included among the seven of the world’s most elegant hotels by Conde Nast Traveler.

“If these walls could talk! Originally the mansion of a wealthy local aristocrat, throughout its 173-year history, this lavish property has been the center of Greek high society, occupied by Nazis, liberated by Allies and currently the most chic address in Athens,” Conde Nast Traveler wrote.

The hotel is located right on Syntagma Square, across the Greek parliament, and a walking distance from other historic locations on the ancient city.
