“Meeting the Odyssey”, a social and artistic initiative that began in 2012, has sailed from the Baltic to the Mediterranean Sea each summer since then. Already, 350 artists from across the globe have joined in on 110 performances to 20,000 people in more than 25 ports. The project sets sail again from June 3 until August 9.
The ship, filled with theater, travels to Greece, the home of Odysseus with stops at the islands of Leros, Lesvos, Elefsina, lavrio, Skyros and Ikaria. Some 50 artists present a series of performances and workshops inspired by the Odyssey at villages at these islands.
The journey aims to bring people together and foster dialogue.
