The ministry of economy and development is working on a new draft bill to help startups grow, based on the Italian model, Economy Minister Dimitri Papadimitriou said, during a visit at the Alexander Innovation Zone (AIZ) in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Papadimitriou said the bill will contain incentives for startups to create new jobs, stem the outflow of well-educated Greeks and generally change the productive fabric of the country.
AIZs chairman of the board, Pantelis Angelidis, presented the proposals the company has made to the government, including the establishment of a special incentive scheme by the state to attract innovative activities, and the granting of special privileges to start-ups and newcomers, including the application of low tax rates and insurance contributions to employees.
