Alpha Bank Sells Serbian Real Estate Subsidiary for €8.4 million

Greece’s Alpha Astika Akinita, an Alpha Bank subsidiary, said it has sold its Serbian subsidiary Alpha Real Estate to Mat Real Estate for 8.4 million euros ($9.9 million).

The transaction was carried out on November 28, Alpha Astika Akinita, a subsidiary of Greece’s Alpha Bank, said in a filing with the Athens Stock Exchange on Friday.

According to data from the Serbian Business Registers Agency, Alpha Astika Akinita owned the entire capital of Alpha Real Estate.

Mat Real Estate is active in the renting and sale of real estate properties. The company operates three hotels in Novi Sad and one in Zrenjanin, in northern Serbia. Mat Real Estate also owns two shopping centres in Novi Sad, according to data from the corporate website.

Serbian entrepreneur Petar Matijevic owns a 70% stake in the capital of Mat Real Estate, according to data from the Serbian Business Registers Agency. He is also the owner of one of the largest meat processing groups in Serbia, Industrija mesa Matijevic.
