Time Running Out in Greek Real Estate Hunt

Greece’s Finance Ministry has until Wednesday to receive applications from badly needed real estate evaluators, in its attempt to harvest reliable data on almost 2,700 locations for the country’s international creditors.

Athens has agreed to supply solid data on real estate valuations by March, but is struggling to recruit enough qualified evaluators, who would be faced with an uphill struggle in untangling a complex knot of figures.

In.gr reports creditors are concerned that there is not enough reliable data upon which to base accurate real estate value estimates.

Zone prices will only be compared to Bank of Greece and the registry data before the ministry makes a final decision.
