Australia – New Greek Investor

Australia has also joined the ranks of active foreign investors in Greek tourism and real estate. Australian Ambassador to Greece Kate Logan told about the intention to invest in the industry at a meeting with the Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Economy Yannis Dragasakis.

Australian points of interest

Tourism, real estate, and logistics are of particular interest to Australia. Greece is one of the most popular resort areas, so the Australian government intends to expand tourist routes for its citizens and establish friendly relations with Greece in this area.

Magnificent Greek real estate, commercial and transportation facilities can become the property of Australians. The housing can be used as a summer residence, and in the rest of the year houses, apartments, cottages, and villas are an excellent option for renting out in a short-term lease. It is now at the peak of popularity.

Residential and commercial real estate Australians (as well as other foreign owners) can take over the management of agent companies. They undertake to maintain the facilities, search for tenants, conclude contracts and transfer profits.

Real estate investments open to Australians and the possibility of a visa program, according to which the investor receives a residence permit and a number of privileges as an EU citizen.

Two countries policy

Currently, the Greek government is working on the implementation of an expanded list of reforms in accordance with the program of comprehensive strategic growth. Modern reforms are designed to stimulate the economic growth of the country, simplify and improve the business environment, modernize public administration, limit the bureaucracy, and speed up litigation.

Successful completion of negotiations between Greece and Australia for relatively free trade will undoubtedly contribute to improving relations. And, especially, in connection with the prospect of enhancing export policy in Greece, which will mark the beginning of the supply of Greek products to the Australian market.

Australia is committed to helping its European neighbor in the process of economic recovery after the crisis. For example, several months ago, the Australian government offered Greece assistance in carrying out reconstruction work throughout the territory around the capital, which was hit by fires. Australia considers such assistance appropriate and timely.
