Entry into Greece without vaccination certificates and PCR test is open

Greece has opened its borders for tourists from other countries and temporarily canceled all anti-covid restrictions for entering the country.

According to the authorities, the restrictions are lifted only for the period of increased demand for tourism in Greece - from May 1 to August 31, 2022.

Simplified conditions for entry into Greece for tourists will apply in this date range from :

  • There will be no need to present PCR or antigen test for COVID-19
  • There will be no need to undergo Rapid Test upon arrival
  • It is not necessary to have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

The reason for the relief is a significant improvement in the situation with the spread of coronavirus in Greece and a significant decrease in the number of cases.

The lifting of the restrictions will affect not only entry to Greece on vacation, but also the internal life of the country: without bans and without presenting vaccination certificates, it will be possible to visit catering establishments, cultural sites and attractions.

Stadiums, theaters, restaurants and taverns will be able to afford full, 100% seating.

From June 1 to September 15, 2022, the requirement to wear masks outdoors and indoors will be cancelled. Masks will not need to be worn even on airplanes and intercity transport, including buses. At the same time, the mask regime will continue to operate for hospitals, nursing homes, as well as in public transport.

Greek authorities note that all lifted bans apply only to the tourist season and may be adjusted depending on the further course of the pandemic.

Thanks to the new regulations, holidays in Greece this year will be possible for a large number of tourists from different countries.
